These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Local Ride platform, including our mobile applications (Local Ride and Local Ride Partner), website localride.co and any related services (collectively, the “Service”), operated by Local Ride Canada Limited, 41 Cooke Ave, Brantford, ON, N3T 0S1.
By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.
You may use the Service only if you:
Are at least 18 years old (riders) or 21 years old (drivers, as per provincial law)
Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract
Use the Service in compliance with Canadian laws
To access key features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
Provide accurate, current, and complete information
Keep your login credentials secure
Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
Local Ride may suspend or terminate your access if any information is inaccurate or your conduct violates these Terms.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
Interfere with the platform or other users
Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized activity
Violate traffic laws or transportation regulations while using the platform
Riders agree to pay the fare displayed at the time of booking. Applicable taxes, tolls, surcharges, and promotional discounts may apply.
Riders may cancel a ride before the driver begins the trip. Cancellation fees may apply.
Drivers may cancel due to safety concerns or unavailability, but repeated cancellations may affect their standing.
Refunds are issued at the discretion of Local Ride for disputes related to trip performance or app errors.
Treat drivers with respect
Not damage vehicles or violate laws while using the Service
Maintain proper licenses and insurance
Pass background checks
Operate vehicles safely and respectfully
Local Ride reserves the right to deactivate accounts that violate safety, legal, or community standards.
All content on the Service is the property of Local Ride or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to access and use the platform, but may not reproduce, modify, or distribute any content without prior permission.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Local Ride disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or availability.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Local Ride shall not be liable for:
Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Loss of data or business interruption
Personal injury or property damage arising from use of the Service
Total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you to Local Ride in the prior 12 months.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Local Ride, its affiliates, and employees from any claims, liabilities, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or harms the platform or its users.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario.
Local Ride may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage users to review the Terms periodically.
